BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team fell 92-60 at home to #2 Minnesota State University, Mankato.
UMary (13-5, 6-3 Northern Sun) shot 22-of-57 (38.6%) from the floor and 4-of-15 (26.7%) from behind the arc, while MSU (15-0, 9-0 NSIC) went 36-of-73 (49.3%) from the field and 7-of-15 (46.7%) from three. The Marauders shot 12-of-18 (66.7%) from the free-throw line, while the Mavericks went 13-of-26 (50%) from the charity stripe.
Allison Undlin recorded her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Undlin shot 7-of-12 from the field and blocked two shots.
Bergan Kinnebrew dropped 15 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.
Emily Jaenke scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds off the bench.
Anna Lenzen recorded eight points, four rebounds, and one block.
MSU jumped out to a 24-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. UMary showed grit in the second quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 17-9 to cut the MSU lead to 33-28 heading into halftime.
The Marauders got the lead as low as two points in the third quarter before MSU took control and ended the quarter with a 61-49 lead. It was all Mavericks in the fourth quarter as they outscored UMary 31-11 to win 92-60.
UMary was outrebounded 40-38 by MSU. The Mavericks dominated the turnover battle, creating 27 Marauders turnovers compared to only 13 by MSU.
The Marauders stay home to host St. Cloud State University on Saturday, January 10, at 5:30 pm in the McDowell Activity Center.
