ST. CLOUD, MN – The University of Mary volleyball team (3-7, 0-2 Northern Sun) fell on the road in three sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-12) to St. Cloud State University (7-3, 2-0 NSIC).
UMary posted 25 kills on a .077 attack percentage while SCSU recorded 45 kills on a .354 hitting percentage. The Marauders had 23 assists and four aces while the Huskies had 41 assists and seven aces.
The first set went back-and-forth as SCSU held an 18-17 lead over UMary. The Huskies won seven of the next eight points to take down the set 25-18.
The Marauders attempted a late rally in the second set but fell short 25-19. SCSU dominated the third and final set, winning 25-12.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Maddy Freed recorded a team-best 21 assists and six digs.
Judith Burke had a team-high eight kills to go along with two blocks and three digs.
Holli Klettheimer posted seven kills on a .250 attack percentage.
Chloe Solheid had six digs in her first match of the season.
Gabby Caskey had three kills and three blocks.
