Judith Burke and
Dani Highum combined for thirty kills as the University of Mary volleyball team earned their first conference win of the season (25-22, 19-15, 25-17, 25-20) on the road against Minot State University.
UMary (4-7, 1-2 Northern Sun) recorded 50 kills on a .209 hitting percentage, while MSU (1-10, 0-3 NSIC) recorded 56 kills on a .165 attack percentage. The Marauders had 47 assists and eight aces, while the Beavers had 47 assists and six aces.
The first set was tied at 19-19 when UMary would go on a 5-2 run to take a 24-21 lead. MSU grabbed another point, but Burke followed by delivering the set-winning kill on an assist from
Katie Bleeker.
An 8-0 run in the second set saw the Beavers tie the match up at 1-1. UMary rallied in the third set, highlighted by a
Holli Klettheimer kill on an assist from
Maddy Freed that earned the Marauders a 25-17 win.
The fourth and final set went back-and-forth, with the score tied at 20-20 when head coach Robert Frost called a timeout. UMary went on a 5-0 run that included kills from Klettheimer and Highum to take down the set and the match.

Judith Burke posted a career-high 17 kills to go along with seven digs.
Dani Highum had 13 kills on a .306 attack percentage. She also had seven digs and two aces.
Maddy Freed dished out a team-high 28 assists while contributing four aces and eight digs.
Holli Klettheimer recorded nine kills on a .400 hitting percentage.
Natalie Boehmer led the team with a career-best 13 digs.
Katie Bleeker added 10 digs and two aces.
