MINOT, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team (1-5) fell in heartbreaking fashion on day one of the 1st International Bank Homecoming Classic, losing in five sets to the University of Manitoba and Black Hills State University.

UMary vs UM
UMary dropped the first two sets to UM before rallying back and tying the match 2-2. A hard-fought fifth and final set saw the Bison win 15-11.

The Marauders held a 22-21 lead over the Bison in the first set. UM rallied to win the last three points to claim the victory. The Bison followed up by taking down the second set 25-18.

UMary responded by winning the third set 25-20 after Gabby Caskey recorded the winning kill on an assist from Natalie Boehmer. The Marauders led 17-16 in the fourth set when UMary finished on an 8-0 run to win 25-16.

The final set went back-and-forth when a 4-0 run by the Bison clinched the tiebreaker 15-11 to earn the match victory.

Jenna Lansing posted a career-high 15 kills on a .270 attack percentage and 12 digs.

Judith Burke had 14 kills and 11 digs.

Natalie Boehmer recorded a career-high 49 assists. Hoehmer also contributed four aces and seven digs.

Dani Highum put up 12 kills and 13 digs.

Katie Bleeker had a team-high 22 digs.

Judith Burke contributed 14 kills and seven digs.

Gabby Caskey had 10 kills on an impressive .348 hitting percentage.

UMary Vs BHSU
UMary impressed on the first set, going on a 6-1 run to win 25-18. The second set saw Marauders attempt a late comeback against BHSU, winning five straight points to cut the Yellow Jackets lead to 23-22. BHSU won the last two points to win 25-22.

The Marauders bounced back with an impressive showing in the third set. UMary won 25-19 after Dani Highum scored the winning kill on an assist from Natalie Boehmer.

UMary held an 18-16 lead in the fourth set, before BHSU went on a 9-3 run to send the game to a tiebreaker. The Yellowjackets controlled the final set, winning 15-9.

Judith Burke had a team-best 15 kills to go along with 10 digs.

Dani Highum recorded 14 kills and 11 digs.

Katie Bleeker put up a career-high 25 digs, averaging five digs per set.

Jenna Lansing posted 16 digs, 13 kills, four aces and three blocks.

Natalie Boehmer dished out a team-high 46 assists.
