WATERLOO, IA – The University of Mary men's golf team climbed the leaderboard on day 2 of the Upper Iowa Invite, finishing 8
th out of 16 teams.
Gavin Argent led the way with a 5
th place finish, his fourth time doing so this season.
The Marauders were 10
th after the first round of competition, but followed that up with the fourth-best second day of the tournament (304, +16). As a result, the Marauders moved up two spots, finishing just one stroke shy of a tie for 6
th.
Argent was terrific again with a 5
th-place finish. His 75 (+3) score after the first day had him in 5
th, and he was able to cut two strokes from his score on day 2 with a 73 (+1). Argent's tournament was highlighted by four birdies, three of which came in the second round.
Lucas Greenlun had a strong second day, moving up eight spots to finish 31
st. Overall, Greenlun shot a 157 (+13).
Aiden Knodel finished 42
nd with a 159 (+15).
Evan Booth placed 63
rd at 162 (+18) to round out the team scoring.

The Marauders will stay busy, as they will be heading to Sioux Falls, SD, for the Augustana Invite at Elmwood Golf Course. The tournament will be from Monday to Tuesday, Apr. 7 and 8. UMary won last year's Augustana Invite.
