Marauders on the road against Beavers on Friday before hosting Wolves on Saturday

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary wrestling team participates in a split weekend, starting on the road against Minot State University on Friday, December 5, at 7 pm. The Marauders then host Northern State University in their first home dual on Saturday, December 6, at 7 pm in the McDowell Activity Center.

UMary then travels to Moorhead, MN, to compete in the Dragon Open on Sunday, December 7, beginning at 11 am.

Wrestling Ticket Prices – Online
  • Adult tickets $10 plus fees.
  • Seniors and Youth (ages 13-18) $5 plus fees.
  • Children 12 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult. Unaccompanied children ticket prices are $5 plus fees.

FOAM OPENER
The Marauders host their "Foam Opener" against Northern State, sponsored by Northwest Mutual and ABC Boat Docks. First 125 fans through the door will receive a foam finger.

UMary had 15 wrestlers place at the UNK Younes Hospitality Open. Koltyn Grebel won the 141-pound weight class in the Amateur Division.

The Marauders are ranked 14th in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Men's Coaches Poll released on October 23.

COACHING STAFF
Coach Aho enters his 13th season in charge of the Marauders wrestling program. Joining Aho on the staff is two-time All-American Braydon Huber and former NCAA National Champion Reece Barnhardt.

SEAN SOLIS NAMED WRESTLER TO WATCH
After earning NCAA All-American status last season, Sean Solis was named the University of Mary Wrestler to Watch by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Solis took third at 141 pounds in the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships. The Long Beach, CA, native lost his first match at nationals before rallying back to win his next five matches to earn bronze. Solis defeated Joseph Airola (Neb.-Kearney) in an impressive 12-7 decision in his third-place match.

MARAUDERS PROJECTED TO FINISH 4TH IN THE NSIC
The Marauders are projected to finish fourth in the 2025-26 NSIC Wrestling Preseason Coaches' Poll. UMary has three All-Americans returning to their roster in Solis, Kaden Renner, and Luke Tweeton. Renner became an All-American at 157 pounds last season when he took seventh at Nationals. Tweeton is a three-time NCAA qualifier at heavyweight and claimed All-American status in 2024 when he finished 8th.

"What excites me most about this year's team is the energy and mindset our guys bring every day. We've got a young, gritty, and hungry group that's willing to put in the work and embrace the grind. I truly believe this team has taken a step forward, and we're in a stronger position this season than we were last year," head coach Adam Aho said.
