One of the most accomplished Marauders to ever hit the mat, Braydon Huber, returns to the University of Mary wrestling program as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season.
“I am grateful to have Braydon on our coaching staff. He has a talent and a natural instinct for coaching. Huber's passion for UMary and our wrestling program is infectious, and he naturally motivates anyone that he is around to be excited about our program,” said head coach Adam Aho.
A two-time All-American, Huber wrestled as a Marauder from 2019-2024. While at UMary, he compiled 94 wins, the third most in program history in the NCAA era. Huber is second all-time in Marauders history for tech falls and takedowns.
“I am ecstatic about the opportunity to give back to the program that has given me so much. Competing for UMary was my passion, and I’m excited that I get to provide value as a wrestling coach, mentor, and as a man of God,” Huber said.
The Post Falls, ID, native qualified for three straight NCAA Championships in 2020, 2021, and 2022, where he earned All-American status in 2020 and 2021. He finished eighth at the NCAA Championships in 2021.
“He has earned the respect of his teammates during his time competing and I know that he will transition seamlessly into this coaching role and make an immediate impact on our program. I couldn't be more excited for the upcoming season and the future of Marauders wrestling,” Aho said.
Huber was a two-time All-Northern Sun performer in 2020 and 2021. During his time as a Marauder, Huber was named Male Athlete of the Year and Wrestler of the Year twice.
“This program has made tremendous strides in its success during my time as a scholar-athlete, and I’m grateful I get to be a part of that continued success moving forward as a coach. I plan to use my wrestling skills, leadership abilities, and communication skills to help our program make the jump to the next level,” Huber said.
