Marauders take down Wolves 81-63 at home

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team got back to their winning ways in an impressive 81-63 victory over Northern State University at home.

UMary (8-2, 2-0 Northern Sun) shot 31-of-56 (55.4%) from the field and 4-of-13 (30.8%) from behind the arc, while NSU (4-3, 0-2 NSIC) went 26-of-62 (41.9%) from the floor and 3-of-13 (23.1%) from three. The Marauders shot 15-of-18 (83.3%) from the charity stripe, while the Wolves went 8-of-16 (50%) from the free-throw line.

UMary won the rebounding battle 37-29 over NSU. The Marauders and the Wolves both committed 14 turnovers.  

Eden Fridley produced a career-high 16 points and eight rebounds. The Bismarck, ND, native also recorded six assists, two steals, and one block.

Allison Undlin scored 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting while also grabbing two steals. Anna Lenzen scored 11 points and brought down seven boards. Bergan Kinnebrew had eight points and two steals.

Chloe Pfau recorded seven points, five assists, and four rebounds. Emily Jaenke and Cassie Erickson each had nine points off the bench. Erickson also had six rebounds and one block.

UMary held an 18-14 lead over NSU at the end of the first quarter. The Marauders extended their lead to 37-29 at the half after shooting 8-of-15 (53.33%) in the second quarter.

The third quarter would see UMary extend the lead to 56-47, going into the final quarter. The Marauders offense dominated in the fourth quarter, shooting a scorching 9-of-11 from the field to win 81-63.

The Marauders head to Jamestown, ND, to take on the University of Jamestown on Saturday, December 6, at 3 pm.
