Gem by Jackson doesn't deter Bulldogs as Marauders fall in road trip finale

DULUTH, MN – Amare Jackson drained all four of his trey attempts in the game and Tshawn Bois just missed a double double as the University of Mary men's basketball team wrapped up their final road trip of 2025 with an 80-65 loss at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the preseason favorite to win the Northern Sun North Division.

Jackson tied his season-high for points with 13 as the junior guard from Seattle, WA, was perfect from behind the arc, connecting on all four of his attempts from deep.

Bois added a pair of treys in four attempts. The Toronto, Ontario, Canada, guard added five free throws in six opportunities on his way to 11 points. Bois led UMary with nine rebounds.

Overall the Marauders had another strong performance from deep, connecting at a 39.3% clip while draining 11-of-28 3-point attempts. In their previous game at Bemidji State University on Thursday they drained 15 treys. However UMary shot just 35% overall for the game as Minnesota Duluth controlled the paint. The Bulldogs made 51.7% of their shots and outscored the Marauders 46-16.

UMD scored 11 of the first 13 points in the game and never trailed in the game. Keyed by a layup and trey by Andre Austin a 3-pointer by Jackson Ware, UMary responded with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 15-15. The Bulldogs scored the next basket and kept the lead the rest of the day.

Alex Dvorak joined Jackson and Bois in providing the Marauders a spark off the bench. The Dickinson, ND, native posted a career-high nine points and made 4-of-5 shots in the game. The UMary bench outscored the UMD reserves 44-19.

Noah Paulson led UMD with 20 points. He hit 10-of-14 points and added seven rebounds. Jackson Fowlkes chipped in 18 points and delivered five assists.

The Marauders return to action with a New Years Eve home matinee when UMary hosts Bismarck State College on December 31 at 1 pm at the McDowell Activity Center. Tickets are available online at www.UMaryTickets.com.
