BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team fell on senior night in three sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-15) to Augustana University.
The Marauders honored
Gabby Caskey and
Maddy Freed for their on-court and off-court contributions to the University of Mary.
UMary (6-19, 3-14 Northern Sun) recorded 30 kills on a .081 attack percentage, while AU (13-12, 11-5 NSIC) posted 41 kills on a .382 hitting percentage. The Marauders had 27 assists and three aces, while the Vikings had 40 assists and five aces.
AU took control early in the first set and cruised to a 25-16 win. UMary started strong in the second set, holding a 16-14 lead. The Vikings rallied to take down 11 of the next 15 points to win 25-20.
The Marauders fell behind to start the third set and were unable to make a comeback, falling 25-15 to AU.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Judith Burke recorded nine kills and four digs.
Dani Highum had nine kills and three digs.
Maddy Freed dished 17 assists and had two aces.
Natalie Boehmer had a team-high nine digs and eight assists.
Holli Klettheimer had five kills.
