Marauders fall 94-76 to the Bison

BETHANY, OK – Four Marauders scored double-digit points, but it would not be enough as the University of Mary men's basketball team fell 94-76 to Oklahoma Baptist University.

Amare Jackson led the way as the junior from Seattle, WA, scored 13 points off the bench. Jackson shot 5-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from behind the arc.

Kelton Coleman had 12 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Cayden Redfield provided 11 points and eight rebounds.

Kenny Gonzalez recorded 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go along with four assists. Tamarrein Henderson had eight points, going 3-of-4 from the field. Overall, the Marauders had 12 of 14 players score in the game.

UMary fell behind 17-3 early in the first half and would trail the rest of the game. The Marauders battled hard but went into halftime trailing OBU 48-34. The Bison grew their lead to as much as 25, but UMary continued to fight as the game finished 98-76.

The Marauders shot 27-of-55 (49.1%) from the field and 8-of-24 (33.3%) from three, while the Bison went 35-of-64 (54.7%) from the floor and 5-of-17 (29.4%) from behind the arc. UMary went 14-of-22 (63.6%) from the free throw line, while OBU shot 19-of-30 (63.3%) from the charity stripe.

UMary was outrebounded 43-28 by OBU. The Marauders committed 19 turnovers, and the Bison gave the ball away 16 times.
