BISMARCK, ND – The offense struggled for the University of Mary women's basketball team (10-8, 7-7 NSIC) as the Marauders fell 73-48 to #21 Concordia University, St Paul (18-2, 12-2 NSIC).
Bergan Kinnebrew led the Marauders in scoring with nine points.
Chloe Pfau had seven points, three steals, three assists and two blocks.
Anna Lenzen came off the bench to record seven points and six rebounds.
Addison Rozell posted six rebounds and three blocks.
CSP jumped out to a 26-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. After trailing by as many as 16 in the second quarter, UMary rallied to cut the lead down to 35-28 as the game went into halftime.
The Golden Bears dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Marauders 19-5 to take a 54-33 lead. The Marauders battled hard in the fourth quarter but came up short as they fell 73-48.
The Marauders shot 14-of-59 (23.7%) from the field and 5-of-25 (20%) from behind the arc, while The Golden Bears went 27-of-64 (42.2%) from the floor and 7-of-19 (36.8%) from three.
UMary shot 15-of-24 (62.5%) from the free-throw line, while CSP went 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the charity stripe. The Marauders outrebounded 46-38 by the Golden Bears.
UMary is back on the road as the Marauders travel to Bemidji, MN, to challenge Bemidji State University on Thursday, January 30, at 7:30 pm.
