JAMESTOWN, ND — The University of Mary swimming and diving team improved to 4-1 in dual competition as the Marauders took down the University of Jamestown 112-109.
Samantha Sheridan took down the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:08.35. Gabbie Evanson (11:38.13) and
Lola Sheridan (11:46.38) finished second and third.
The Marauders would again take the top three spots in the 500 Yard Freestyle as
Samantha Sheridan (5:30.42) won, while
Amber Norgaard (5:37.35) and
Lola Sheridan (5:43.56) placed second and third.
Peyton Wunderlich won the 200 yard freestyle, recording a time of 1:59.67.
Michaela Desmond (2:05.93) placed third in the event.
Madeline Desmond earned gold in the 100 Yard Butterfly, posting a time of 1:00.11. Wunderlich (1:01.72) followed right behind Desmond to finish runner-up.
Madeline Desmond continued her strong performance by winning the 100 Yard Backstroke after producing a time of 1:03.00.
UMary won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as the team of
Michaela Desmond,
Kamya Smith,
Sarah Bernasconi and Wunderlich recorded a time of 1:44.05.
The 200 Yard IM saw
Elise Altringer finish second with a time of 2:23.88.
The Marauders finished runner-up in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the team of
Madeline Desmond,
Katherine Ryan, Bernasconi and Norgaard posted a time of 1:57.33.
UMary travels to Moorhead, MN, to challenge Concordia College on Saturday, January 25, at 11 am.
