JAMESTOWN, ND —The University of Mary swimming and diving team gets back in the pool for two road duals against the University of Jamestown and Concordia College this weekend.
The Marauders take on the Jimmies on Friday, January 24, at 5 pm in Jamestown, ND. UMary then travels to Moorhead, MN, to challenge the Cobbers on Saturday, January 25, at 11 am.
The Marauders are 3-1 overall in duals this season.

THE STAFF
Abby Loel returns for her second year in charge of the Marauders program. She competed as a Marauder from 2018-22. Loel added
Alex Lucy as the new assistant coach for the Marauders swimming program. Lucy previously served as the head assistant coach for the Aquastorm swim club, while also coaching the Legacy High School boy's swim team.
RETURNERS
The Marauders have ten returners, which include five sophomores (
Elise Altringer,
Sarah Bernasconi,
Madeline Desmond,
Brenna Newlan, and
Maria Strong), four juniors (
Teresa Cavanaugh,
Sarah Towey,
Jordn Wolsky and
Madeline Desmond), and one senior (
Mariapocs Ruiz Martinez).
NEW FACES
Coach Loel adds nine new freshmen and one transfer in her first recruiting class as a coach. The freshmen include

Katherine Ryan,
Lola Sheridan,
Kamya Smith,
Peyton Wunderlich,
Gabrielle Evanson,
Felicity McCallen, and
Lucy McIntyre.
Samantha Sheridan transfers to UMary from Northern Arizona University.
WUNDERLICH NAMED ATHLETE TO WATCH
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced that freshman
Peyton Wunderlich will be the University of Mary swimmer to watch for the upcoming season. Wunderlich was the AIA DIII state champion last year in the 50 freestyle (24.08) and the 100 freestyle (53.11).
MARAUDERS PROJECTED TO FINISH 8
TH IN THE NSIC
The NSIC Swimming & Diving Preseason Coaches' Poll also predicted the Marauders to finish 8
th in the conference for the upcoming season. Last season, UMary took 6
th in the NSIC Championships.
