MARSHALL, MN – The University of Mary women's soccer team extended their unbeaten string to five with a scoreless 0-0 draw at Southwest Minnesota State University. This is also the fifth straight clean sheet for the Marauders, who have allowed just one goal this season in six games.
The Marauders remain undefeated in Northern Sun play, one of only five conference teams without a loss entering the second week of league play. UMary is 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the NSIC. SMSU is 0-5-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the NSIC.
Once again this season the Marauders dominated the run of play, holding a commanding advantage in shots (18-3), shots on frame (11-2) and corner kicks (19-1).
The 19 corner kicks is the most generated in a single game by the Marauders since beginning NCAA play in 2006. The previous UMary high was 13 last season against the University of Minnesota Crookston and in 2007 against Wayne State College.
The Marauders controlled the first half and held a 7-2 edge in shots while taking all seven corner kicks.
UMary cranked the heat up even higher in the second half, taking 11 shots and placing seven on frame while allowing SMSU to take seven shots with only one on target. Additionally 12 of the 13 corner kicks were generated by the Marauders.

Molly Fischer followed suit in the 89
th minute, making her only save of the second half and third of the game on a dangerous shot directed to the upper left corner of the net.
The Marauders were able to get the ball back into the box in the closing seconds but were unable to get off a clean shot before the final horn sounded.
The shutout was the fourth straight individual clean sheet for Fisher and the fifth for the Marauders.
