BISMARCK, ND –
Kaia Sueker made history, recording her 1500
th dig of her impressive career as a Marauder as the University of Mary volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-20) to Augustana University.
The first set was tied at 15-15 when AU (5-4, 1-0 NSIC) would go on a 6-1 run and held on to win 25-21 over UMary (2-7, 0-1 NSIC).
Kaia Sueker grabbed her eighth dig in the second set, which earned her the career milestone of 1500 digs. The Vikings would finish the set on an 8-1 run to win 25-16.
The Marauders jumped out to a strong start in the third set, taking a 7-2 lead. AU rallied back to take the lead and win the set 25-20.
The Vikings recorded 43 kills compared to the Marauders, who recorded 33. AU held a 6-2 advantage in blocks over UMary.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Dani Highum put up a career-high ten kills.
Kaia Sueker posted 14 digs, the most on either team.
Maddie Cooper had six kills on a .500 attack percentage.
Maddy Freed dished out 29 assists.
Chloe Solheid had ten digs and three aces.
