Xavier Lewis and 
Alex Mattes both set career-highs in scoring for the University of Mary in the Marauders penultimate game of the 2023-24 season at Wayne State College. The duo combined for 31 points in UMary's 96-55 loss to the homestanding Wildcats.
 
Lewis scored a team-high 16 points, coming off the bench to make 7-of-9 shots and hitting his lone trey. The sophomore forward also had five rebounds, a block and a steal.
 
Mattes posted 15 points for UMary (7-20, 2-19 NSIC). The freshman guard hit a pair of treys in the game and was 7-for-8 at the free throw line.
 
Gerald Gittens provided a little of everything for the Marauders, scoring nine points and leading UMary with seven rebounds and four assists.
 
The Wildcats (15-13, 8-13) had a big night shooting the ball, making 58% of their shots overall that included a 13-for-25 effort behind the arc.
 
Alec Millender had 21 points for the Wildcats, making four treys and distributing six assists while making three steals.
 
The Marauders close out the 2023-24 season at Augustana on Saturday, February 24. Tip off is slated for 5:30 pm.
