Keely Porter knocked a two-out walk-off single to right field to rally the University of Mary past Mayville State University for a 4-3 win in the opening game on day two of the 2024 season. Despite a pitching gem in game two by
Hannah Chambers, the Marauders dropped a 1-0 decision to host University of Jamestown and finished the day and the weekend with a split at the 4-game Jamestown Softball Dome Tournament.

th inning to claim a 4-3 walk-off win.

Francesca Villaneda in the sixth to close the gap to 3-2.
Emma Kimberling got the Marauders rally started in the 7
th inning with a leadoff single and a steal of second. After a flyout, Kimberling took third on a single by
Sariah Perez before scoring on a base hit by
Janelle Bergmann. After another flyball out, Porter singled to right just beyond the grasp of the Comets second baseman. Perez scored safely, sliding into home headfirst with the winning run as the throw from right field tailed up the third base line.

GAME TWO: Jamestown 1 UMary 0
Hannah Chambers had an impressive season debut in the circle for the Marauders. After holding down center field for the first three games, Chambers threw a complete game gem for the Marauders in a 1-0 loss to the homestanding Jimmies. Chambers allowed just one unearned run on five hits in seven innings.
The Jimmies scored their lone run in the fifth inning. Following a one-out single, the Marauders mishandled a bunt to score the Jimmies runner from first.
Janelle Bergmann had two of the Marauders three hits with
Sariah Perez producing the other.
Twice the Marauders filled the bags but couldn't score. UMary used an error, a walk and a hit batter to load the bases with one out in the second but were unable to plate a run. In the sixth, the Marauders again loaded the bases with one out but was unable to tie the game or take the lead.
The Marauders (2-2) next play five games in Emporia, KS, February 16-18.
