MARSHALL, MN – The Northern Sun schedule kicks off for the #16 University of Mary wrestling team as the Marauders compete against Southwest Minnesota State University on Thursday, December 5, at 7 pm in Marshall, MN.

UMary then heads to Moorhead, MN, on Saturday, December 7, at 11 am to participate in the Dragon Open hosted by Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The Marauders had nine wrestlers place at the Younes Hospitality Open, the largest tournament in the nation. #2 Reece Barnhardt took third place at 133 pounds in the Elite division. Sean Solis finished fourth at 141 pounds in the Elite Division. Dante Roggio placed fifth at 184 pounds in the Elite Division.

NATIONAL RANKINGS – TEAM
The Marauders are ranked 16^th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Men's Coaches Poll released November 25. UMary is also ranked 16^th by the Open Mat NCAA Division II Wrestling rankings.

REECE BARNHARDT NAMED WRESTLER TO WATCH
Three-time NCAA All-American Reece Barnhardt was named the University of Mary Wrestler to Watch by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Barnhardt took fourth at 133 pounds at the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Last season, the senior earned 2023-24 NSIC wrestling First-Team All-Conference honors after winning the NCAA Super Regional V.

MARAUDERS PROJECTED TO FINISH 4^TH IN THE NSIC
Coming off a season that saw two wrestlers earn NCAA All-American honors, the Marauders are projected to finish 4^th in the NSIC.

"This year's team is comprised of some seasoned veterans along with some talented newcomers. They are a fun group of young men that everyone enjoys being around. They are all team-first guys who care about one another and are willing to make investments in themselves to collectively help the program pursue excellence on and off the mat. It's going to be a fun year," head coach Adam Aho said.
