ABERDEEN, SD – The University of Mary volleyball team (4-15, 2-9 Northern Sun) fell short in their road contest against #22 Northern State University (14-4, 6-4 NSIC), losing in three sets (25-22, 25-11, 25-19).
The first set was competitive, with both teams posting 16 kills. NSU edged out UMary with an Abby Brooks kill, winning the set for the Wolves at 25-22.
NSU took down the second set 25-11. The Marauders fought hard in the third set but were overmatched by the Wolves, who won 25-19.
UMary recorded 32 kills on a .120 attack percentage, while NSU had 46 kills on a .291 hitting percentage. The Marauders did edge out the Wolves 6-4 in blocks. NSU finished the match with 61 digs and UMary had 50.

Gabby Caskey led the Marauders in kills with 11.
Charli Blackman posted 13 digs, seven kills and two blocks.
Maddy Freed had 26 assists and seven digs.
Holli Klettheimer recorded eight kills and two blocks.
Chloe Solheid led the team with 14 digs.

The Marauders return home to welcome the University of Minnesota Crookston to the McDowell Activity Center on Friday, October 25, at 6 pm. UMary then hosts Bemidji State University on Saturday, October 26, at 2 pm.
