MOORHEAD, MN – Four Marauders recorded double digit-kills as the University of Mary volleyball team (4-14, 2-8 Northern Sun) won an exciting match over Minnesota State University Moorhead (7-10, 2-7 NSIC) in five sets (25-23, 24-26, 15-25, 25-17, 15-12).
True freshman
Holli Klettheimer delivered the match-winning kill in the fifth set to secure the Marauders their second straight victory in a row.
Maddie Cooper had a career-high 16 kills on an impressive .429 hitting percentage.
Gabby Caskey posted 15 kills, the most she has had in a conference match, on a .438 attack percentage.
The first set went back and forth, with both teams exchanging leads. UMary held a 24-23 lead as
Maddy Freed delivered the winning kill to secure the set for the Marauders.
The second set played out in a very similar fashion, with both teams having leads. With the score tied at 24-24, Emily Ramsay picked up two kills to win the set for MSUM. The Dragons continued their momentum in the third set, winning 25-15.
The Marauders took a 15-8 lead in the fourth set and never relinquished it.
Reyna Isenbart earned the set-winning kill off an assist by Freed, winning the set 25-17 for UMary.
The final set was another competitive contest, with the score tied at 11-11. The Marauders won four of the five final points to take down the set and the match 15-12. UMary had 11 kills on a .556 hitting percentage in the fifth set.
UMary posted 64 kills on a .331 attack percentage, while MSUM had 73 kills on a .269 hitting percentage. The Marauders held a 10-3 advantage in blocks over the Dragons.

Maddie Cooper led UMary with 16 kills and had one block.
Maddy Freed had a career-high in assists with 56. She also recorded seven digs and one block.
Gabby Caskey posted 15 kills and three digs.
Kaia Sueker had 20 digs for the second straight match.
Charli Blackman had 12 kills and eight digs.
Holli Klettheimer put up 11 kills and four blocks.
Reyna Isenbart had nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage.
Chloe Solheid posted 15 digs.
