WINONA, MN – An offensive onslaught led by
Derek Shoen combined with strong performances on the hill by
Joseph Sinclair and
Jaxon Zanolli caried the University of Mary to a doubleheader split at Winona State University. The Warriors opened with a 5-4 walkoff win before the Marauders bashed their way to a 15-3 game two win shortened by the 10-run rule.

In search of a second straight win in his second straight start,
Halen Knoll was stellar for the first six innings as the Marauders as UMary jumped out to a 4-1 lead and led 4-2 through six innings. The seventh proved the Marauders undoing in a 5-4 loss in the weekend opener to the Warriors.
Coming off a pair of 7-inning performances, Knoll tossed a 7-inning complete game win against #22 Minnesota State in his first Marauders start last Saturday.
Cal James sparked the Marauders to an early lead. After singling home a run in the first, he followed with a solo home run to right filed for a 2-1 lead in the third. The Marauders increased their lead to 4-1 on a
Kyle Jameson 2-run double in the fourth.
PIVOT POINT
The Warriors pulled with 4-2 with a single run in the fourth. In the seventh, a 2-run home run by Nick Herbst tied the game. Following a walk and a single, Steele Beatty singled to right to score the winning run.

Derek Shoen pounded out four hits and the Marauders totaled seven extra base hits out of their 14 hits in the game. Shoen was 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.
Josh Walker added a double and a triple, scored three times and drove in two.
Cal James scored three times and
Krece Papierski had three hits and three RBIs.
Joseph Sinclair had a strong start for the Marauders. He limited the Warriors to three runs in five innings while striking out five.
Jaxon Zanolli entered the game in the sixth inning and pitched three scoreless innings to earn a save. He scattered four hits and had one strikeout.
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders scored early and didn't stop. Shoen and Walker drove in first inning runs before
Will Brassil homered in the second and
Kalem Haney scored
Kyle Jameson on a sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead. UMary increased its lead to 7-2 in the 5
th and 8-3 in the sixth before Zanolli came aboard to shut down the Warriors offense.
