LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ – Record performances by the University of Mary golf team led the Marauders to a head-to-head win over Augustana University in a 2-day matchup between the two Northern Sun foes. Down three strokes after the first round, an impressive closing round allowed UMary to edge Augie 589-596 at the Wigwam Golf Club.
After a team score of 303 on day one while Augie checked in with a 300, UMary made a massive improvement in round two as the top four Marauders carded a 286 compared to the Vikings total of 296.

Laif Olson. "They have worked hard all winter hitting balls and weight training and it showed. This was so much fun and a great step forward for the Marauder Men's Golf Program."
The Marauders set several team marks for the most recent era of UMary men's golf, including a low team 18-hole score (286) and low team 36-hole 2-day score (589).
Individually
Gavin Argent established a new standard for the lowest 18-hole round (66) while
Alex Wilson's score of 143 is the low 36-hole 2-day tournament score.
Wilson had a tremendous effort for the Marauders over the two days. He opened with a 73 before closing out with a day two total of 70 and finishing the Marauders-Augie Dual one under par. His total of 143 lead all players.
After struggling in the first round with a 79, Argent burned up the course with an incredible score of 66 in round two. Argent was 6-under in the second round while finishing second overall at +1.
Logan Barrett checked in 5
th overall (77-74 – 151) and 3
rd for the Marauders.
Cody Brunner rounded out the UMary team scoring with a 152 (75-77), finishing tied for 6
th overall.
Tyce Halter (78-76—154),
Jonah Laundergan (86-87—173) and
Hunter Keller (87-90—177) rounded out UMary's efforts.
Will Allen was the top finisher for Augie, shooting a 2-day total of 148 to finish 3
rd overall.
The Marauders next compete at the NSIC Preconference Tournament in Blue Springs, MO, on March 28-29.
