EDMOND, OK – Unable to overcome multiple big innings by the home team the University of Mary baseball team lost a pair of games to the University of Central Oklahoma. After the visiting Marauders won the series opener on Friday, the Bronchos swept Saturday's doubleheader by 12-3 and 7-5 scores. UCO scored in seven different innings during the day and six featured two or more runs.
 
The Marauders look to earn a series split when UMary (1-2 overall) and Central Oklahoma (6-1) wrap up a 4-game series with a single game on Sunday, February 12. Game time is 12 noon.
 
GAME 1 | Central Oklahoma 12 UMary 3
A first inning grand slam by Bronchos right fielder Noah Olson provided all the runs Central Oklahoma needed to even up the weekend series with the Marauders at a game apiece. UMary, who had scored first in the top of the first on a run-scoring single by 
Derek Shoen, pulled within 4-2 when 
Krece Papierski homered in the second. UCO rebuilt its 4-run lead after scoring twice in the third.

th to close within 6-3. The Bronchos sealed the win with a run in the fourth and five more in the sixth
 
TURNING POINT
Taking advantage of loaded bases without a hit ball leaving the infield, Olson cracked a grand slam over the wall in right center field. After the leadoff batter was hit by a pitch and an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt, a bunt single loaded the bases. One out later UCO had a 4-1 lead off the bat of Olson.

GAME 2 | Bronchos 7 Marauders 5
UMary twice rallied to tie the contest but a third comeback wasn't in the cards for the Marauders in a 7-5 loss to the Bronchos in game two of the day. After spotting Central Oklahoma a 3-0 lead after the first inning, UMary retaliated with three unearned runs in the top of the second. Taking advantage of two errors and a passed ball, the big Marauders blow was a run-scoring single by 
Michael Polson through the left side of the infield.
 
Central Oklahoma quickly regained its lead with two runs in the bottom of the second. UMary finally pulled even at 5-5 in the fifth, scoring two more unearned runs. A Papierski walk with the bases loaded scored the first run before an 
Arian Jimenez sacrifice fly into short center field scored 
Josh Walker on an  
Aggressive running play.
 
TURNING POINT
The game finally turned against the Marauders in the sixth inning. After the Bronchos leadoff hitter reached on an error, Seth Gray hit a 2-run home run to right center to plate the winning runs. The first two batters for the Marauders reached base to start the seventh inning but UMary was unable to take advantage.
