MANHEIM, PA – With five scholar-athletes listed among the best in the nation, the University of Mary is ranked #9 in the preseason 2023-24 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Coaches Poll.
 
The Marauders roster boasts four All-Americans and six national qualifiers. Last season UMary finished 13
th at the NCAA championships and 3
rd in the Northern Sun standings while sending four wrestlers to nationals, all program bests.
 
Max Bruss is the Marauders highest-ranked individual, checking in as #2 at 174. The redshirt senior season earned All-American honors for the first time last season as he placed 5th in the nation at 174. The DePere, WI, native also earned All-NSIC honors for the first time after winning all nine of his conference matches. Bruss finished the year 33-6 overall. He also qualified for the NCAA championships in 2021.
 
Two-time All-American 
Reece Barnhardt is #5 at 133. The junior earned All-American honors in 2022 and 2023.
 
Matther Kaylor is ranked #5 at 197. The junior placed 5th at nationals last year and is a 2-time NCAA qualifier.
 
Braydon Huber, a senior at 165, is ranked #9 at 165. The 2-time All-American (2020, 2021) and a 3-time NCAA qualifier.
 
Redshirt sophomore 
Luke Tweeton, who qualified for nationals last year for the first time, is ranked #8. He earned All-NSIC second team honors last year.
 
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference leads all conferences with 26 ranked wrestlers and six ranked teams. 
 
The Marauders open the season at the Jimmie Open on Saturday, Nov. 4.
