Marauders plan to keep climbing as UMary hosts NSIC Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary looks to keep climbing as championship season opens this weekend. The Marauders will be competing at home as UMary hosts the Northern Sun Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 21. The men's race starts at 11:15 am at McDowell Dam.

All-conference performer Guillermo Fregoso leads the Marauders into the NSIC championships. Running his best race of last season the junior from Twin Falls, ID, placed ninth to earn 1st team All-Northern Sun honors.

Fregoso is the lone UMary runner who has competed at the NSIC championships. He'll be joined at the start line Saturday by sophomore Caleb Hansen and freshmen Luke Fundak, Eli Hansen, Max Lefor and Andrew Scheer.

The Hansen brothers have been right behind Fregoso all season with Eli slotting second and Caleb third.

The NCAA Central Region championships follow on November 4 in Joplin, MO.
