ABERDEEN, SD – After taking Northern State University to five sets just over a week ago in Bismarck, the University of Mary hoped to build on that effort and claim a road win over the Wolves. Instead Northern State swept UMary 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-16) in a non-conference meeting.
The Marauders (5-14 overall) used a 9-2 run late in the first set that included a couple kills by
Nehkyah Ellis to pull within 23-20 but the deficit was too large to overcome. The Wolves (14-4) used a pair of long rallies in each of the next two sets to claim the win.
Ellis led the Marauders with nine kills.
Emily Torborg added six kills and four block assists.
Alexandria Harper had five kills and a team-leading five block assists.
Kameron Selvig posted 21 assists and 13 digs.
Kaia Sueker tied for game-high honors in digs with 19.
Natalia Szybinska led the Wolves with 11 kills.
The Marauders close out the weekend in Aberdeen with a neutral site Northern Sun contest against MSU Moorhead. Start time is 2 pm at Wachs Arena.
