BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary softball team (7-35, 5-17 Northern Sun) fell in their doubleheader to Minnesota State University (42-10, 24-4 NSIC).
It was senior day for UMary. The Marauders honored
Haley Berube,
Eryn De Jonge,
Avery Dome,
Rachael Laetsch and
Kennedy Cowart for their achievements at the University of Mary.

MSU held a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. UMary got a run on the board in the fifth after
Brooke McClure doubled to left field, scoring
Brooke De Jonge.
The Mavericks added two more runs in the sixth inning, which extended their lead to 7-1.
Devyn Ritz brought home
Sariah Perez after singling to left field in the seventh inning. UMary failed to score
any more runs, securing a 7-2 MSU win.

MSU took a 5-0 lead after the top of the first inning. The bottom of the first inning saw
Haley Berube single to right field, which scored
Eryn De Jonge.
The Mavericks with three runs in the second inning and one run in the top of the fourth, extending their lead to 9-1. UMary continued to battle back as
Haley Berube homered to left-center. The Marauders then went back-to-back as
Devyn Ritz hit a solo home run to left field.
The Mavericks extended their lead to 10-3 after scoring a run in the top of the fifth inning. UMary scored a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth inning as
Erin Murphy scored on a wild pitch. MSU then added on two more runs in the seventh inning.
