BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary tennis team (7-6, 6-3 Northern Sun was defeated 4-3 in a close matchup against Southwest Minnesota State University. This is UMary's final home match of the season.
"We played a tough team. Lots of close points, but we came up short. We put up a great effort," said head coach 
Vida Saliendra.  
The Marauders earned a point after sweeping their doubles matches. 
Chloe Chong and 
Ilona Freitag were victorious in number one doubles, winning 7-5. 
Doaa Farouk Mohamed and 
Emily Needham got won 6-2 in number two doubles. 
Callie McDonald and 
Heidi Jacobson took home the win in number three doubles, 6-4.
Chong was dominant in number one singles as she took down Joana Reis Indio 6-3, 6-0.
In number two singles, Freitag fell 7-5, 4-6, 3-6 in a tight contest to Courtenay Leonard.
Mohamed took home the win against Kristina Vuksanovic 6-0, 6-3 in number three singles.
In number four singles, Needham lost a tight match to Maja Louisa Harck 4-6, 6-3, 2-6.
Jacobson lost 6-2, 6-3 in number five singles to Cora Delich.
McDonald was defeated in number six singles to Faith Madikwe 6-1, 6-1.
