BISMARCK, ND – In their first home match of the season, the University of Mary tennis team (7-5, 6-2 Northern Sun) fell 5-2 against Minnesota State University - Mankato (12-9, 4-3 NSIC).
The Marauders earned a point after winning two out of three doubles matches.
Chloe Chong and
Ilona Freitag were defeated 6-2 in number one doubles.
Doaa Farouk Mohamed and
Emily Needham got UMary on the board, winning 6-4 in number two doubles.
Callie McDonald and
Heidi Jacobson won in number three doubles, 6-3.
Chong was defeated in a close match in number one singles to Tristen Bryant-Otake 2-6, 6-4, 3-6.
Freitag was victorious over Shlwell Avery 6-2, 7-5 in number two singles.
Mohamed's singles record fell to 10-2 after she lost to Elizabeth Felderman 0-6, 2-6 in number three singles.
In number four singles, Needham lost a close matchup to Hana Minisy 6-3, 3-6, 0-6.
Jacobson fell short 7-5, 6-3 in number five singles to Taylor Julsrud.
McDonald competed in number six singles as she was defeated 6-0, 7-5 by Brynn Psooy.
