KEARNEY, NE – Laken Boese and Braydon Huber both claimed runner-up finishes at the Younes Hospitality Open and seven University of Mary wrestlers total placed in the Elite division at one of the largest non-team scoring open tournaments in the country.
 
Boese claimed 2^nd at 141 after reeling off three straight wins to reach the finals, including two by fall. He fell just short in his title hopes with a loss in the championship match to Nick James of host Nebraska-Kearney. James is ranked 3^rd in the nation for the defending national champion Lopers.
 
Huber dominated his first three wins of the day at 165, taking matches by fall, technical fall and major decision before taking an 8-3 decision over UNK's Kaden Hart in the semifinals. Huber just missed the title after suffering a narrow 8-7 decision to 4^th ranked Hunter Mullin of Western Colorado in the finals.
 
At 174, Max Bruss claimed third place. After opening with three straight wins, including one major decision and another 6-4 in sudden victory, the 8^th ranked Bruss suffered a loss in the semifinals before finishing the day with a 5-0 win over Cole Hernandez of Western Colorado.

Reece Barnhardt placed fourth at 133. The sophomore finished the meet 4-2 with two wins by major decision and another by fall. Ranked 1^st in the nation, Barnhardt dropped his final match of the day 6-5 to #5 Collin Metzgar of Colorado Mesa.
 
Ranked 4^th in the country, Matthew Kaylor opened with three straight wins to battle his way to 4^th place at 197. In one of the toughest brackets, Kaylor had wins by technical fall and in double overtime but suffered an 8-5 loss to #11 Tereus Henry of Fort Hays State and dropped a 3-1 decision in the 3^rd place match to 5^th ranked Hayden Prince of the Lopers.  
 
Wyatt Lidberg claimed fifth place with a strong start. After opening with a pair of victories, Lidberg fell in the semifinals to the top-ranked wrestler at 184 before dropping a 3-2 decision to Quayin Short of NCAA Division I Wyoming.
 
After a break for Thanksgiving, the Marauders open their dual schedule with a match at the University of Jamestown on November 29.
