JOPLIN, MO – Led by a strong performance by
Robert White, the University of Mary men's cross country team wrapped up their season with a 14
th place finish at the 2022 NCAA Central Regional. The Marauders had a pair of runners finish in the top 50 in the 30 team race that included 206 competitors.
Leading the Marauders for the first time this season, White placed 38
th overall. The New Town, ND, native completed the 10K Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in a time of 30:34.5.
Dawson Strom finished second among UMary runners. He placed 48
th with a clocking of 30:43.2.
Caleb Yokum claimed 62
nd overall. He moved up five slots over the last half of the race and was timed in 31:03.5.
Guillermo Fregoso placed 89
th in a time of 31:35.7. Rounding out the team scoring for UMary was
Owen Jones, who checked in 119
th in 32:11.3.
Host Missouri Southern State University placed first overall with a team score of 70, just edging the University of Nebraska – Kearney with 72. UMary finished with a team score of 355, taking fifth among Northern Sun programs.
