ST. PAUL, MN – Madelynn Trout went yard for the first time this season as the University of Mary softball team fell in both games of their doubleheader at Concordia University, St. Paul.
GAME 1 University of Mary 2 Concordia-St. Paul 6
Madelyn Trout jumpstarted the Marauders (1-16 overall, 0-4 NSIC) offense in the top of the second inning when she hit a solo home run to left field giving UMary a 1-0 lead. CSP (10-8, 4-0) responded by getting a run in the bottom of the second and took the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning. The Marauders tied the game up at 2-2 in the fifth inning after UMary was able to pull off a double steal when Mikaela Pelesauma stole second and Kasidy Chileen swiped home.
Pivot Point
The Golden Bears took control of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning after a solo home run from Meagan Bliese and an RBI single from Grace Beseman gave CSP a 4-2 lead. CSP would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning winning the game 6-2.

GAME 2 University of Mary 1 Concordia-St. Paul 7
The Marauders fell behind the Golden Bears early as CSP grabbed a run in the first inning and five in the second. The Marauders got a run back in the top of the 4th inning as Devyn Ritz doubled to left center scoring Madelyn Trout, making the score 6-1. UMary was unable to make a comeback as CSP added on another run in the sixth inning, giving the Golden Bears a 7-1 win.

Brooke DeJonge went a perfect 2-for-2 in game two of the doubleheader.

The Marauders will turn right around and travel to Mankato, MN, to take on Minnesota State University - Mankato on Saturday, April 3, at 1 pm.
