BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary volleyball team will host their second home game of the season as they take on the University of Minnesota Crookston on Friday, March 19, at 5 pm.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
All spectators are welcome to attend the Marauders home volleyball match when UMary hosts the University of Minnesota Crookston at 5 pm on Friday, March 19, and Northern State University at 4 pm on Wednesday, March 24.
Admittance is free and limited to the first 100 spectators, including UMary students and faculty & staff. An additional amount of fans will also be admitted if they are on the Family & Friends list submitted by the Marauders volleyball program or the Visiting Fans list determined by the opposing head coach.
The gates open one hour prior to game time. Please enter through the Lumen Vitae University Center only. Concessions may be purchased at the University of Mary Bookstore located by the main entrance to the McDowell Activity Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders won their first home game this season over Minot State University 3-1. Nehkyah Ellis and Reagan Celaya both led the team with 10 kills while Bailey Harms led the team in blocks with five.
UMary lost its next two outings against Black Hills State University and Montana State University Billings by identical 3-1 scores. Maddie Cooper was the Marauders leader in kills with 10 against BHSU. Kaia Lill had the most assists against MSUB with 17.
OPPO RESEARCH – University of Minnesota Crookston
The University of Minnesota Crookston has yet to compete in the 2021 season thus far. UMC's last season was in 2019 where they finished with a 4-24 record, going 2-18 in the NSIC. Head coach Sarah Morgan enters her fourth season in charge of the Golden Eagles volleyball team and has gone 15-69 over that period. Senior Lauren Wallace is UMC's leading attacker as she had 128 kills in 2019.
STATS TO WATCH FOR
Natalia Cruz is twelfth in the nation in aces per set at 0.70. Cruz has seven aces and 17 kills.
Nehkyah Ellis leads the team with 27 kills and has five aces. Reagan Celaya is second on the Marauders with 26 kills.
Kaia Lill leads the team in assists with 62 and has 21 digs on the year. Kaia Sueker is UMary's leader in digs with 48.
RETURNING TO THE MARAUDERS
Players returning to the Marauders include senior Natalia Cruz, who played in all 101 sets while leading the team in digs, digs per set, service aces, and service aces per set. Cruz's 3.98 digs per set ranked 14th among the NSIC leaderboard.
Junior Brittany Brusven returns after playing in 12 sets while recording 37 assists and averaging 3.08 assists per set.
Sophomores Bailey Harms and Nehkyah Ellis will be returning to UMary. As a true freshmen Ellis played in 54 sets, was 2nd on the team with 1.81 kills per set, had the 2nd highest serve reception percentage of .930), and had 119 digs. Harms was redshirted in 2019, but as a freshman in 2018 she played in 14 matches during her freshman campaign. She recorded 57 kills and 29 blocks. Harms averaged .66 blocks per set which were second on the team.
NEW FACES
Coach Tetzlaff will have eight new freshmen as she and her staff will look to get the young player's valuable experience heading into this season. Those freshmen include Kaia Lill, Laura Petik, Emily Torborg, Megan Kruschke, Kameron Selvig, Reagan Celaya, Olivia Dickerson and Maddie Cooper.
Other new additions include junior Kennedy Drewis who transferred from Iowa Western Community College after previously attending Division I Western Illinois University. Sophomore Kaia Sueker competed in the Cross Country and Track teams at UMary and was a member of the 2019 NSIC Cross Country Championship Team.
