MOORHEAD, MN –
Jose Reyes and
Gabe Anderson both finished fourth for the University of Mary wrestling team in the Dragon Open, hosted by Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Marauders had five wrestlers place in the tournament.
Jose Reyes earned fourth place in the 197-pound weight class, competing unattached. Reyes would fall in his third-place match to Isaac Grams of St. Cloud State by an 8-1 decision.
Representing UMary in the 184-pound weight class was
Gabe Anderson, who took fourth. Anderson was defeated via a 3-1 decision in his third-place match to Ayden Friese of Concordia College.
Evan Frisque would place fifth in the 174-pound weight class, competing unattached. Frisque would win his fifth-place match via a pinfall at the 2:07 mark over Alex Sandoval of Minot State University.
Riley Noble finished in fifth place in the 165-pound weight class. Noble was victorious in his fifth-place match against Elijah Sterner of Southwest Minnesota State University by a 10-3 decision.
Wrapping things up for the Marauders was
Ryan Scherber, who competed unattached and took sixth place in the 149-pound weight class. Scherber would lose in his fifth-place match via a pinfall at the 1:08 mark to Adam DeBoer of Northern State University.
