BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team (6-4, 1-1 Northern Sun) remain undefeated at home as they would earn their first conference win in an impressive 82-49 victory over Minnesota State University Moorhead (1-5, 0-2 NSIC). UMary had a season-high 22 assists in their win over MSUM.
The Marauders held a 16-12 lead over the Dragons at the end of the first quarter. For the second straight game, UMary would blow out their opponent in the second quarter.
The Marauders outscored MSUM 27-9, which would give UMary a 43-21 lead going into halftime. The Marauders would shoot 60% from the field in the second quarter, while the Dragons shot 22.22% for the quarter.
UMary would maintain their lead at the end of the third quarter, holding a 63-39 over MSUM. The Marauders would close out the game strong and take home the 82-49 win over the Dragons.
Lexie Schneider led the team in scoring with 15 points while also grabbing five rebounds.
Addison Rozell contributed 14 points off the bench and earned four rebounds.
Ryleigh Wacha scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
Megan Zander had a team-high seven assists while also scoring six points and collecting five rebounds.
Macy Williams contributed nine points while also earning four assists and three steals.
The Marauders shot 49.2% from the field, shooting 27.8% from three and went 19-of-31 from the charity stripe. The Dragons shot 29.3% from the field, shooting 9.1% from behind the arc while going 2-of-5 from the free-throw line.
