BILLINGS, MT – The University of Mary women's basketball team (1-2) wrapped up the D2CCA Tipoff Classic with a 74-59 loss to Seton Hill University (1-2).
UMary finished the first quarter with a 14-12 lead over SHU. The Griffins would take control of the game in the second quarter as they outscored the Marauders by seven points and led 34-29.
The offenses caught fire in the third quarter, with both teams scoring 21 points giving SHU a 55-50 lead going into the final quarter.
UMary's offense would struggle in the fourth quarter as the Marauders scored nine points. The Griffins would finish strong, scoring 19, which gave them a 74-59 win.
Megan Zander had an outstanding game from behind the arc, scoring 18 points while shooting 4-of-5 from three.
Ryleigh Wacha scored 11 points while grabbing eight rebounds.
Megan Voit had 10 points and three assists.
The Marauders continued their great play on the boards as they outrebounded the Griffins 40-28. UMary had 15 turnovers compared to SHU, who had 10.
The Marauders shot 36.5.2% from the field, shooting 34.8% from three and going 5-of-10 from the free-throw line. The Griffins shot 44.9% from the field, shooting 57.9% from behind the arc while going 19-of-24 from the charity stripe.
Next Up
UMary travels to Edmond, OK, to compete against Northeastern State University on Friday, November 12, at 1 pm. The Marauders then take on the University of Central Oklahoma on Saturday, November 13, at 5:30 pm.
