BISMARCK, ND – A dominant second quarter would help lead the University of Mary women's basketball to an 87-53 victory over Presentation College.
The first quarter was competitive, with the Marauders earning a 17-16 lead. UMary shot 50% from the field in the first quarter, while PC shot 46.15% for the quarter.
The Marauders would take over in the second quarter as they outscored the saints 46-9, giving UMary a 53-25 lead heading into halftime. The Marauders would shoot 60% from the field while going 5-of-9 from behind the arc.
UMary would continue their great play in the second half. The Marauders would outscore the Saints 34-28 and would earn the 87-53 win.
Megan Zander led the team in scoring with 22 points while grabbing three rebounds.
Lexie Schneider had 15 points and seven rebounds.
UMary would get some big contributions from its bench.
Ellie Hasz scored a career-high nine points while contributing seven rebounds.
Addison Rozell had nine points on 4-of-8 shooting.
The Marauders shot 52.3% from the field, shooting 43.5% from behind the arc and went 9-of-13 from the free-throw line. The Saints shot 41.8% from the field, shooting 16.7% from behind the arc while going 6-of-11 from the charity stripe.
