Bismarck, ND – A double-double from
Nehkyah Ellis helped lead the University of Mary volleyball team (5-17, 2-11 Northern Sun) to their second straight conference win over the University of Minnesota Crookston (1-17, 0-13 NSIC).
The Marauders trailed the Golden Eagles 21-20 in the first set. UMary rallied off five of the next six points to win 25-22.
The Marauders continued their good play in the second set as they would win 25-19. UMary scored the winning point on an attacking error from UMC.
The Golden Eagles would come back and win the third set 25-22 after trailing the Marauders 18-12.
UMary was able to regain control in the fourth set and win 25-19 after
Emily Torborg scored the game-winning kill after an assist from
Kameron Selvig.
"We challenged our team to put two matches together back-to-back this weekend. I am proud of how they responded and fought to finish the weekend strong," said head coach
Abby Pollart.
