BISMARCK, ND – Following another exceptional season that witnessed the University of Mary earn a third straight trip to the Northern Sun women's soccer tournament and make an appearance in the NCAA regional rankings, head coach
Sarah Cook has added the commitments of seven more student-athletes who will continue their education at UMary and play for the Marauders.
"We are tremendously excited to announce the addition of these seven women to our 2020 University of Mary women's soccer team, bringing our incoming class of 2020 to 11 student-athletes," said Cook. "In addition to the four recruits we announced last fall, these ladies bring depth, strength, speed and technical skill to our roster for next season.
"
Kaiya Denis,
Breanne Kuni and
Halle Nottage join fellow Marauder
Samantha Guzman and recent signee
Kayla Alcott from Peninsula College. Coach Kanyon produces quality players at Peninsula who have made an immediate impact on our team, in the NSIC, and in NCAA DII. Last year both
Malia Brudvik and Samantha earned All-NSIC honors and we know these three, along with Kayla, can do the same.
"Kaiya is tenacious, determined, quick, and very smart about the game, she will be a very strong defender for us. Breanne is very technical, and has a high work rate, she will add lots of experience and depth in our midfield. Halle is a versatile player who could see time at multiple places on the pitch, she is energetic, quick, and very soccer savvy.
"
Alonna Allickson joins teammates Elizabeth and
Olivia Geiger as the third signee in the 2020 class from Mandan High School. Alonna is so skillful and is ready to compete at this level. She will make an outstanding impact on our team next fall.
"
Olivia Flure and
Autumn Cassen are midfielders who are both very technical and hard-working players. They are great fits for our team.
"
Katrina Graczyk, a forward from California, is powerful, strong, and a quality finisher who we are excited to add to our team."
The signings of
Kayla Alcott,
Elizabeth Geiger,
Olivia Geiger and
Rayni Vorachek were previously announced.
The Marauders open the 2020 regular season at home against Northwest Nazarene University on Sept. 3.
