Marauders Softball Picks Up Three Big Wins On First Weekend Of Spring Games In Florida

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 CLERMONT, FL – The University of Mary softball team had a dominant opening weekend at the spring games in the Sunshine State, picking up a trio of wins. The Marauders have made it three in a row, winning the past three games in Florida. UMary used their bats to pick up the wins, recording a copious amount of hits with several of them being sent out of the park.
 
With the Marauders good start to the Spring games the team has improved to 6-7 on the season.
 
GAME 1 University of Mary 0 Cedarville University 8
The University of Mary was only able to muster up two hits against Cedarville University, falling to the Yellow Jackets. Mariah Sanchez and Emma Noble led the way for UMary, each with a hit, with Noble recording a double.
 
PIVOT POINT
Cedarville was able to score in four of the five innings played, including five runs in the first two innings to take the lead. They never looked back from there.
 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Emma Noble went 1-2 with a double
 
Mariah Sanchez went 1-3
 
STAT OF THE GAME
After leading the team with 14 doubles last season, Emma Noble has picked up right where she left off. Noble hit her team leading fourth double of the season during the game.

GAME 3 UMary 11 Saint Rose 10
Saint Rose was able to jump out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning but that did not deter the Marauders. UMary was able to outscore to Golden Knights 10-4 throughout the last six innings to force extras. UMary was able to score in six of the eight innings, posting multiple runs in innings 2 through five. The Marauders smoked 13 hits on the game, four being four extra bases, including a pair of doubles, a triple by De Jonge, and a homer by Noble. Madison Jahner picked up the win for UMary from the circle.
  
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders trailed 8-2 when Emma Noble blasted a homerun to bring things to 8-4. This put momentum on the side of the Marauders, bringing the score to 8-7 in the fourth. Saint Rose was able to retake a 10-7 lead but a pair of walks with the bases loaded in the fifth sent home two Marauders and then an error in the sixth tied the game up at 10 for UMary.
 
With the game locked at 10 in extra innings, Rachael Laetsch came to the plate and singled, knocking in Mikaela Pelesauma to give the Marauders a walk off win.

STAT OF THE GAME
The Marauders had their bats going recording 13 hits on the game. In total eight different Marauders recorded hits with four recording multiple. UMary also recorded at least one single, double, triple, and homerun on the game.
 
GAME 4 UMary 8 Felician 1
The Marauders blasted three homeruns in their big 8-1 win over Felician. Madelynn Trout got the Marauders going with a three run bomb to put the Marauders up 4-0. Emma Noble extended the lead to 7-1 with a two run shot in the seventh. Isabella Saint Hilaire capped the Marauders big day with a solo shot in the seventh. Kaitlyn Alvarado pitched a complete game from the circle, earning the win and striking out four in the process.
  
PIVOT POINT
With the game tied at zero after two innings, a three run shot by Madelynn Trout in the third helped put UMary up 4-0. The Marauders never looked back from there.

THREE HOMERS IN ONE GAME! The Marauders had their bats going and when they made contact, the ball flew. Of the Marauders eight hits, four were for extra bases and three were out of the park.
