UMary Softball Set To Play 12 Games In The Sunshine State

CLERMONT, FL – The University of Mary softball team heads to Florida for a week of sunshine and softball. The Marauders will participate in 12 games between February 28 and March 6.
 
The Marauders open their spring trip against Cedarville University and University of the Sciences on Friday, February 28. UMary will also face Saint Rose, Felician, Concordia – NY, Charleston, Findlay, Mercyhurst, Grand Valley State, West Virginia Wesleyan, Indiana of Pennsylvania, and Urbana.
 
The Marauders have started the season off 3-6, picking up a dominant 7-0 win over MSU Billings in their most recent outing.
 
Rachael Laetsch leads the team with a slash line of .350 / .519 / .500. She is tied for the team lead in doubles (3) and RBIs (6). She leads the team in walks drawn with six on the season.
 
Freshman, Mikaela Pelesauma is the team leader in hits with 10. A quartet of Marauders are tied for second with eight hits.
 
Madelynn Trout has done it all for UMary. She leads the team with 14 total bases and is the only Marauder to have recorded at least one single, double, triple, and homerun this season. She also leads the team in runs scored with six.
 
From the circle, three different Marauders pitchers have picked up UMary's three wins this year. Brooke Harder, Kaitlyn Alvarado, and Madison Jahner all have a win on the year. Jahner and Casey Beemiller are tied for the team lead with seven strikeouts.
