BISMARCK, ND – In a battle between two big rivals with the winner taking home the barrel, the University of Mary wrestling team would reign victorious in dominant fashion over #23 Minot State. The Marauders had a historic finish to their 35-6 win over the Beavers, winning the final six matches with the last five coming by bonus points.
 
With today's win the Marauders improve to 5-7 on the season and 3-4 in NSIC duals. The Beavers fall to 6-8 on the season and 2-6 in the NSIC.
 
Laken Boese (133) picked up the Marauders first win of the night an 11-5 decision. Four takedowns, a reversal, and an escape led Boese to the victory.
 
Trevor Fauver made it two straight for UMary with a 5-1 win at 141 to give the Marauders a 6-3 lead.
 
With the match tied up at six, #12 Braydon Huber (157) took the mat and picked up an 11-4 decision. A first period escape, takedown, and near fall put Huber up big and the match out of reach for his opponent. With Huber's two takedowns in the bout, he moved within four of the Marauders single season record.
 
After posting a pair of first period reversals, Payton Hume (165) earned the win by fall (2:47) to electrify to McDowell Activity Center.
 
#7 Phillip Springsteen (174) kept the MAC rockin' with the Marauders second straight pin. Springsteen pinned Joseph Lopez of Minot State in 3:44.
 
In his final dual in the McDowell Activity Center, Austin Eichmann (184) went out on top. The Marauders senior dominated his way to a 16-4 major decision that included a trio of four-point near falls.
 
Gerardo Jaime used a pair of four-point near falls to earn a 9-1 major decision at 197.
 
Dominic Tudor picked up the Marauders last six points of the evening when he won by injury forfeit over #8 Jordan Will. Prior to the injury, Tudor held a 2-1 lead.
 
The Marauders will conclude NSIC wrestling with a dual at Northern State on Thursday, February 20 at 7 PM in Aberdeen, SD. Dual coverage will be provided at goumary.com/coverage.
