BEMIDJI, MN – A second half scoring outburst by the University of Mary women's basketball team led them to a 76-70 victory over Bemidji State. The Marauders exploded in the second half, recording 45 second half points and limiting the Beavers to 27 to claim the come from behind victory. Three Marauders recorded career highs in the win with Lauren Rotunda leading the way with 30 points off of 77 percent shooting from the field, 67 percent from deep, and 100 percent from the free throw line. Lexie Schneider tied a career high with 18 points and Megan Voit scored 12 points for a new career high. With the win today, UMary completed the weekend sweep over BSU and UMC.
 
With the win the Marauders improve to 14-9 overall and 8-6 in the NSIC. BSU falls to 7-11 overall and 4-10 in the Northern Sun.

 
FIRST HALF BREAKDOWN
Bemidji State had a first period offensive explosion, scoring 29 points in quarter number one. UMary and BSU were tied 8-8 half way through the first quarter when BSU rallied off 14 straight points as part of a 21-5 run to close out the first. The Beavers grew the lead to as much as 19 points in the second but UMary closed out the half on a 12-5 run to bring themselves within 12 at half. Lexie Schneider led the way for UMary with 16 first half points.

 
SECOND HALF BREAKDOWN
Lauren Rotunda took over in the second half of the game, dropping 20 of her 30 points. Voit pitched in 12 second half points. UMary began to chip into the Beavers lead, cutting it down to seven points heading into the fourth. The final quarter was where UMary made their move, recoding a 20-3 run late in the quarter to help claim the lead. The Marauders held on from there to clinch the six point win.
