BISMARCK, ND – On a night where nine different University of Mary women's basketball players found the bottom of the bucket, the Marauders would fall to the #14 University of Sioux Falls 80-62. A deadlocked game was blown open by a strong third quarter by the Cougars, creating a deficit that the Marauders could not overcome. Lauren Rotunda did a little bit of everything for the Marauders, recording 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Cassie Askvig scored her 1500th career point with her 17 points during the game.
With the loss the Marauders fall to 12-8 and 6-5 in the NSIC. USF improves to 16-2 overall and 9-2 in the NSIC.
FIRST HALF BREAKDOWN
The thrilling first half saw the Marauders fight back from down 12 points to tie the game up at 32 heading into half. Trailing by eight as time wound down in the first quarter,
Lauren Rotunda pulled up from half court to bring UMary within five and more importantly put momentum on the side of the Marauders. Rotunda led the way for the Marauders in the first half with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

SECOND HALF BREAKDOWN
UMary came out in the second half and worked their way up to a 38-36 lead. USF then went on a 10-0 run as part of a 28-8 run to close out the third quarter. This gave the Cougars an 18 point lead heading into the fourth. UMary was able to cut the lead down to 11 early in the fourth quarter but the Cougars responded, pushing the lead back up to 18 points at the end of the game. Askvig led the Marauders second half scoring efforts with nine points.
