RAPID CITY, SD – The University of Men's Soccer team was back in action today, taking on Texas A&M International in a neutral site match. The Marauders had their hands full battling a very talented Dust Devils team. UMary fought hard but three goals by TAMIU in the second half proved to be too much for UMary to overcome, falling by a score of 4-1.  
 
"Tough match," stated Marauders head coach Dave Cook. "Texas A&M International is a good team. They were able to get on the board first which always makes the game a little tougher."
 
The Dust Devils were able to record the lone first half goal at the 32-minute mark, followed by a second half goal in the 62^nd minute to give themselves a 2-0 lead.
 
"I was happy we clawed ourselves back in it 2-1," stated Cook. "When you are still chasing it at the end you are usually going to equalize or concede and unfortunately today, we just didn't have an equalizer in us."
 
The Marauders brought themselves back into contention with a goal by Joseph Frediani in the 66^th minute. Frediani tallied the goal off of an assist from Stanley Joseph. Frediani saw his first career minutes during this match and he capitalized off of them, scoring his first collegiate goal.
 
"Freddy is a great teammate and guy," stated Cook. "I was happy he was able to get us back in the game. Good to see him get his first minutes and goal."
 
Frediani's goal brought the match to 2-1 but TAMIU responded by posting two more goals to end the hopes of a Marauders comeback.
 
The Marauders will look to bounce back on Wednesday, September 11 as they head back to Rapid City to take on South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Game time is scheduled for 11 AM.
