SIOUX FALLS, SD – The University of Mary volleyball team hit the road for their first NSIC road contest of the season. The Marauders traveled to Sioux Falls to battled Augustana University. Augie was able to hold the advantage, taking the Marauders down in three sets. UMary refused to give up the third set easily, falling by the narrowest of margins in the third. Sydney Murphy recorded her ninth double-double of the season during the match. Nehkyah Ellis had a breakout performance, leading the Marauders in kills with eight.
With the loss the Marauders fall to 1-10. Augie improves to 9-3.
PIVOT POINT
Augustana was able to get momentum on their side right away, jumping out to a two sets to none lead. However, the Marauders did not go down without a fight in the third set. The Marauders trailed 18-13 in the third set but came storming back to only trail by a score of 24-23 but a kill by Augie put the end to the Marauders hopes of forcing a fourth set.

Gabriela Castillo recorded a game high of two service aces.

Julianna Hughes had four kills with a .375 hitting percentage.

Sydney Murphy recorded her ninth double-double of the season with her 18 assist, 11 dig performance. Her nine double-doubles in the first 11 games of this year is already four more than she had in the entirety of the 2018 season.
