MOORHEAD, MN – It was a team effort for the University of Mary softball team today with each player recording at least one hit. Eight different Marauders put the ball into play during the first game.
Kylie Alto led the way with a team high of four hits between the two games including three in the second game. The Marauders used late innings runs to pick up a victory in game one to earn a split with MSU Moorhead.
With today's split the Marauders record goes to 17-23 overall and 8-12 in NSIC play.
GAME 1 University of Mary 7 Minnesota State Moorhead 6
The Marauders used late inning runs to claim victory in game one against the Dragons. Trailing 6-4 entering the sixth inning, UMary knocked in two runs to tie things up at six a piece. The Marauders knocked in one run in the seventh and that proved to be enough to claim a 7-6 victory. Eight different players accounted for UMary's ten hits on the game. Of the Marauders ten hits, three were for extra bases.
Haley Berube knocked in a two run homerun and
Kasidy Chileen and
Rebekkah Keller each posted doubles. The Marauders dominated on the bases recording three stolen bases.
Madison Jahner earned the win for UMary from the mound by only allowing two hits and one run in her four innings of work.

Comebacks is the name of the game for UMary in their last two wins. The Marauders stormed back from trailing by as much as five runs today to claim a victory over MSUM.
GAME 2 UMary 4 MSUM 6
A three-for-three performance by
Kylie Alto and a two-for-three performance with two RBIs by Mariah Sancehz led the Marauders during game two. The Marauders started off great, recording three runs in the second inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Six runs in the fourth inning by MSUM gave them a 6-3 lead which held until the end with UMary falling 6-4 to the Dragons. The Marauders out hit MSUM in the game, recording nine hits compared to seven by the Dragons.

The Marauders jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but a six run explosion by MSUM in the fourth inning proved to be too much for the Marauders to overcome.
