ORLANDO, FL – The University of Mary Tennis team got their second day of competition in Florida underway. The Marauders, playing at the USTA tennis center took down Otterbein University 6-1.
 
With the win the Marauders improve to 9-2 on the season and 6-2 in NSIC play. Today's win marked the fourth straight for UMary.
 
UMary earned the doubles play point by claiming two out of the three matches. The team of Dembo and Hegy claimed #1 doubles with a 6-2 victory while Wolf and Stoppler clinched a 6-3 win in #2 doubles.
 
The Marauders won singles one through five with Otterbein only claiming victory in #6 singles.
 
Tasha Dembo got the ball rolling in #1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory for UMary.
 
Yusra Hegy won #2 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
 
Jamie Stoppler clinched the match for UMary with her 6-3, 6-3 victory in #4 singles.
 
Kelsey Lajom had another very competitive match, coming out on top once again. She won in #3 singles 6-4, 7-5 in the longest match of the day which featured many long, hard fought points.
 
Danielle Wolf claimed victory in #5 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
 
Kali Askvig lost 2-6, 6-7 in #6 singles.
 
The Marauders will be back in action, tomorrow, March 9 at 3 PM against Piedmont College.
