ORLANDO, FL – The University of Mary tennis team got their spring break trip started in dominant fashion with a 7-0 win over Coe College. Playing outside on a sunny, 70 degree day the Marauders swept both singles and doubles play.
 
The Marauders improve to 8-2 on the season with today's win.
 
The #2 singles team of Stoppler and Wolf took a dominant 6-1 victory over Coe. Lajom and Askvig thrived in the sun, winning in #3 doubles 6-2. The team of Dembo and Hegy finished the sweep with a 6-4 win in #1 doubles.
 
Tasha Dembo claimed the win in #1 singles. In a marathon of a match that lasted two and a half hours the sophomore claimed the win 7-6, 6-4.
 
Yusra Hegy dominated her match 6-0, 6-2.
 
Kelsey Lajmom prevailed in the ever competitive match, bringing home the victory 7-6, 5-4.
 
Jamie Stoppler continued with her impressive season, winning 6-2, 6-0.
 
Danielle Wolf won in the only set of the day that went three sets. The junior trailed 4-1 in the first set but stormed back to win 6-4. She fell in the second set 2-6. The match went to a super tiebreaker which Wolf won 11-9.
 
Kali Askvig rounded out the day claiming a victory 6-4, 6-3.
 
The Marauders will be back in action tomorrow, March 8 at 11:30 AM CST against Otterbein.
